How to say the alphabet in Spanish


The Spanish alphabet is much different from the English. We both pronounce our letters differently but it is important to learn how to spell in any language.

Things to remember:

1) H is silent.

2) N and Ñ do not make the same sounds.

3) V is pronounced the same as B.

A way to use the Spanish alphabet is if you or someone else is trying to study for a Spanish spelling test.

The days of the week

The days of the week are very different in Spanish compared to the days of the week in English. They are spelled differently and all beginning letters of each word in Spanish must start with a lowercase letter.

What day is today? = ¿Qué día es hoy?

What day is tomorrow? = ¿Qué día es mañana?

Tomorrow is= Mañana es…

Today is = Hoy es…


The days of the week can be used in a real life situation when you need to ask someone what day of the week is that day or the next day.

Tu vs. Usted

Tú vs. usted

In spanish when you are talking to someone important who you are not close with, you need to use the term Usted. When they talk to you they will most likely use the term tú, which would indicate that you are not ranked as high.



This can be used in a real life situation when you are having an interview. You would use usted.

el invierno = Winter
